Does my BOC-3 expire?
You BOC-3 expires if your authority goes INACTIVE, filing for a NAME CHANGE or TRANSFERRING an authority. You will need to purchase another BOC-3 in these cases.

When can I operate after I apply for my own authority?
Here's the timeline...it's a MINIMUM of three weeks before you will be able to operate as an interstate carrier/broker. What do I do when my MC number is OUT OF SERVICE?
If you have big red letters OUT OF SERVICE on your MC account here what you need to do.
- First go here... http://li-public.fmcsa.dot.gov/LIVIEW/pkg_oos_process.prc_oos_search and see what this issue is.
- Then contact your state's USDOT field office and speak with an office to find out what steps are needed to remove this status.
Is there an annual fee for BOCs?
For most accounts there is no annual fee. A $150 service fee is assessed if the MC account holder has been served with legal documents and/or USDOT citations for 1 year.
